Now imagine

the sound behind it.

[ 01 / What you'll learn ]

Every sound,
a deliberate
decision.

Most sound design is decoration. The work that actually moves people starts somewhere earlier — at the question of why. Intention is the live walkthrough of that thought process, applied to scenes I've actually made.

  1. 01

The thought process behind purposeful sound design

A repeatable framework I use before opening the timeline — so the build is intentional, not improvised.

  2. 02

How to give every sound a purpose

Why each layer exists, what it's doing for the viewer, and when to cut it — even if it sounds good.

  3. 03

How to match sound to the emotion of the scene

Reading what a shot is actually doing emotionally, and designing audio that lands on the same beat.

  4. 04

How to design scenes that actually move the viewer

The choices — tension, restraint, contrast, silence — that separate a scene people watch from one they feel.

Not an audio engineer. Not an audio expert. Just a videographer who fell in love with sound design — and built a body of work around it.

David has been a full-time videographer since 2021, with millions of views across his automotive videos. He's become known specifically for the way he treats sound — not as polish, but as a co-author of the scene.

[ 04 / FAQ ]

Loose
ends.

  • Will the workshop be recorded?
Yes. Everyone who registers gets the full replay within 48 hours of the live session. Watch it once, rewatch the parts that mattered, or use it to catch up if life gets in the way.
  • What software or experience do I need?
None specifically. Intention is about the thought process behind the design — the framework works in Premiere, DaVinci, Final Cut, or anything else you edit in. If you've cut a video before, you're ready.
  • Does this cover music or dialogue editing?
No — Intention is strictly about sound design and sound effects: how I pick them, layer them, time them, and use them to drive emotion. Music scoring and dialogue editing are separate disciplines with different toolkits. Trying to cover all three in two hours would shortchange every one of them.
  • Is this only for automotive work?
The examples lean automotive — that's where I built my voice — but the framework is genre-agnostic. Whether you shoot weddings, documentary, brand work, or narrative, the question of why this sound effect applies the same way.
  • How does the live Q&A work?
The last 30 minutes are reserved for live questions. You can submit them ahead of time when you register, and during the session itself. I prioritize the questions most people share, then work through as many specific ones as time allows.
  • What if I can't make it live?
Register anyway. You'll get the full replay and you can send your Q&A questions in advance — I'll answer the best ones on the recording so async attendees aren't second-class.
  • What's your refund policy?
Full refund up to 24 hours before the workshop starts — no questions asked. After that, the seat is yours and so is the replay.
